Among the many Malbec aromas, there is one that is almost its sign: The aroma of Violet.
It is one of the few floral aromas of red wines. For Cahors wines, it is the mark of great terroirs and grape harvested at very good maturity. Very similar to the blackcurrant aroma, it can be confused with it.
You can find it in the Château Paillas and especially in the vintage 2002.
The flower needs a well drained limestone ground to blossom in spring ... in the vineyards of Château Paillas.
